Hales Engineering has completed hundreds of traffic impact studies (TIS) throughout the Intermountain West. Hales Engineering uses advanced traffic modeling software (Synchro/SimTraffic or PTV Vissim) to model and analyze roadway systems.
Current traffic count data are used for the existing conditions. The methods described in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation manual are used to determine the amount of traffic that will be added to the system due to the proposed project in the area. This traffic is added to the original traffic to complete a "plus project" analysis. Other analyses are run for future conditions, which are determined by referring to the projected growth of the study area. Hales Engineering recommends measures that can be taken to mitigate any poor traffic flow that is anticipated.
