The purpose of a safety study is to evaluate safety in an area or along a certain corridor. This is done by analyzing crash data and patterns, as well as identifying any safety hazards that may exist. A field review is often completed in order to observe driver tendencies and patterns in the area. The analysis is meant to identify any improvements that would improve the safety and well-being of the local residents and traveling public in the study area.
